About Me.....Dave
Hughes

Then (Nikon) 1979
Now (Canon) 2010
Hi I'm Dave Hughes 39, and photography is my
real passion in life.
I have been interested in photography for the past 30 years or so
ever since my parents bought me an
Olympus trip for Christmas. That
was it I was hooked and as a child I would rather click a
wild mushroom than kick it. Back in
those days we used to print our own in the
darkroom and again I much preferred the smell of developer and fixer
than the feel of a football on my foot.
I would go out with my dad who was also a keen
photographer and we would take pictures of anything and everything
from
Miss Merseyside competitions, the
Popes visit to Liverpool, The
filming of
Chariots Of Fire in the oval
Bebington, local
Boxing bouts to the aftermath of the
Toxteth
riots in the early 1980's.
We joined the Hoylake Photographic Society and
I became their youngest ever member and together we would enter
the monthly competitions and enjoy the Friday night slide and print shows
at the club sitting patiently waiting to see if we had won. I know
it sounds grim compared to the 11 year olds of today but I loved it,
I loved every single minute of it. We did of course win several
competitions within and outside of this society during this first
year and aged Eleven I became
Young Photographer of Wirral
2 years later I became
Royal Life
Pride & Spirit Of Merseyside
Young Photographer of Merseyside
A few years later,
actually a quarter of a century later and here I am, still taking
pictures but now with a slightly better camera than my old Olympus
Trip. There are no more visits to the darkroom or smells of
developer or fixer as I now shoot digital and sadly my dad is
no longer with us to take me on any more magical photographic
adventures.
I thank
My Dad
for everything he taught me about photography without
his love, knowledge, time and teaching I would not be doing what I am able to do to this day.
360° Virtual Tours of Wirral
I am currently producing
360° Virtual Tours of Wirral using
the worlds first 8mm A.F Fisheye lens coupled
with market leading stitching software and cutting edge high end
digital photographic equipment. In other words a camera, tripod,
special lens and a few other bits. Its not rocket science but I'm
sure you'll agree it's damn well effective. Have a
LOOK
I also work with the best digital Canon cameras,
canon L series lenses and the most up to date post processing
software.
Please have a look at my Photography
Services and don't hesitate to give me a call to see
samples of my current work.
I don't claim to be a professional I just LOVE
what I do Dave
